Walpole Man Charged with Driving without a License in West Roxbury; Given Civil Citation for Marijuana, Too

Boston Police arrested a Walpole man for allegedly driving without a license in West Roxbury, and also gave him a civil citation for marijuana possession.

On Dec. 13, around 11:18 a.m., Jefferson Rodriguez-Sousa, of 688 Washington St., Walpole, was arrested and charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license; and was given a civil citation for marijuana.

Members of the Boston Police District E-5/E-18 Drug Control Unit were surveilling the area of 4600 Washington St., (the CVS parking lot) in Roslindale, a known area for drug transactions.

Police noticed the suspect drive into the parking lot and make three phone calls while scanning the traffic on Washington Street. After five minutes the suspect drove out of the lot, according to a Boston Police report, aand made his way to Nikisch Avenue in Roslindale and parked on the corner. The officer then saw a known individual currently under investigation come and conduct an alleged hand-to-hand drug transaction through the passenger side window. The alleged dealer then walked away.

The undercover officer called for a marked cruiser to stop the vehicle after the suspect drove off. The suspect was stopped at the intersection of Rockland and Washington streets in West Roxbury. 

The driver told police he did not have a driver's license and he was then arrested. One plastic bag of a leafy green substance believed to be marijuana was seized from the suspect's pocket. The suspect said he had just purchased the marijuana for $20, according to a Boston Police report, and thus he was given a civil citation for possession of marijuana.
