West Roxbury Woman Charged with OUI after Accident in Westwood

A West Roxbury woman was arrested on drunk driving charges after a single motor vehicle crash in Westwood.
On Sunday, June 16, around 2:45 a.m. Michelle Barrett, 20, of West Roxbury, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of alcohol and a marked lanes violation, according to a Massachusetts State Police press release.

Massachusetts State Police responded to the Exit 13 ramp in Westwood, and Barrett allegedly told police an animal had jumped in front of her vehicle causing her to drive into the guardrail. She also allegedly said she'd been drinking earlier at a friend's residence, according to the press release.
After a field sobriety test Barret was taken into custody, and was eventually released on personal recognizance and will appear in Framingham District Court at a future date.
