In two short weeks people across Greater Boston, and others around the world, will be honoring those lost or injured in the April 15, 2013 Boston Marathon bombing. Hopefully the trial of admitted bomber Dzhokhar Tsarnaev will be completed by the time that solemn Wednesday rolls around.
The Boston Marathon bombing trial began on March 4 after a lengthy jury selection period.

Nearly every media outlet in New England is covering the story but the trial has also gained traction overseas due to the severity of the crime and the possibility of a death penalty ruling, an option that hasn’t been exercised in Massachusetts since 1947. Twenty-one-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev faces 30 charges, including 17 that could bring him the death penalty.
Prosecution in the Boston Marathon trial rested its case on March 30 and defense followed suit a day later. Closing statements will take place on Monday, April 6.
