Yelling Man Contained, Without Violence, by Boston Police Officer
The man was walking in circles and yelling "I'm unarmed!" at the Greek Day Parade last Sunday.

Despite the recent threats against the Baltimore Police Department and controversial police-involved deaths of the past two years, a Boston officer showed an example of restraint while containing an unruly man at the Greek Day Parade Sunday.
At about 12:19 p.m. on April 26, a Boston Police Officer was towing illegally parked vehicles on the Boylston Street parade route and pulled behind one vehicle to warn the driver to move.
Police said the officer used his lights and sounded his air horn in an attempt to encourage the driver to move his car. After additional attempts to alert the person, the officer approached the car before the suspect jumped out, raised his hands and yelled: “I’m unarmed! I’m unarmed!”

The suspect calmed down and acknowledged that he needed to move his vehicle. The officer then backed away from the car and waited for it to be moved.
About a minute later, the suspect, who was identified as Udaykumar Patel, of Ohio, began walking around in circles and yelling “I’m unarmed!” again.

The officer told Patel, 25, to calm down and contained the suspect after he failed to cooperate. The suspect was handcuffed, but no violence was used.
Patel, who was transported to Tufts Medical Center for an evaluation, will be charged with being a disorderly person and failing to obey a police officer, police said.
