WESTWOOD, MA - Inclusive Westwood began a signature drive on Saturday to gather information from residents to show the community's support of equity for a range of marginalized people, including people of color, the LGBTQ+ community, people with disabilities, and people from various religious groups as well as atheists.

The drive's start date coincided with the birthday of the late Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., who was one of the civil rights movement's most vocal advocates and a leader who called for peaceful protests.

The group's mission statement described it as "a group of parents and citizens who are passionate about making Westwood a supportive, safe, equitable, and inclusive town for all kids and families. We seek to embrace and celebrate our differences as a community, and to build our collective awareness and understanding of how to be positively engaged citizens in an increasingly diverse and dynamic world."
