UPDATE: July 9, 2013 at 5:30 a.m. Due to scheduling conflicts among town officials, the welcome ceremony for Police Chief Jeffrey Silva has been moved to July 17 at the Westwood Public Library.  -- Original Story, July 8, 2013 at 5:30 a.m. -- The Westwood Board of Selectmen will hold a welcome ceremony for the new Chief of Police this week. On Thursday, July 11, the public is welcome to officially welcome Police Chief Jeffrey Silva at the new Westwood Public Library, 660 High Street, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  "Since he previously worked in New Bedford, he is not a familiar person in the community, so this meet and greet is a way we have introduced new department heads to the community when they first start out," said Town Administrator Mike Jaillet.
