Are you interested in serving your community?
The Town of Westwood is looking for residents to volunteer to serve on many of its local Boards, Committees or Commissions. You can choose your area of expertise from Finance to Environmental to better serve your community. Resident participation results in a stronger and more responsive local government. The below listed Boards are currently seeking members, but the Town has many other Boards and Committees that do not have membership restrictions.

The Westwood Select Board is looking for interested volunteers to fill the following vacancies:
Charter Review Committee – Select Board is seeking residents to serve on the Committee
The Town of Westwood is governed by Home Rule Charter. The Select Board appoints a committee to review the Charter and Town By-Laws not less than once every 10 years from the date of the last review undertaken. The committee shall be tasked to make recommendations to a subsequent town meeting to amend the existing Charter and Town By-Laws. The Select Board is seeking to appoint residents to assist with this objective and comprehensive review of the Town Charter and By-Laws. Committee members should be willing to serve for approximately two years, and be available to attend meetings once or twice a month through this review period.
Westwood Environmental Action Committee (WEAC)
Westwood Environmental Action Committee (WEAC) serves as an advisory committee to the Select Board. The Committee identifies environmental issues to the Board of Selectmen attention to work with them on solutions that benefit the town and its residents. The mission of WEAC is to promote energy and resource conservation, renewable energy, water conservation, green buildings, more efficient vehicles, tree planting, recycling and environmental education in the Town of Westwood.
