Westwood Community Chest Launches Neighbors Helping Neighbors Campaign

Annual Fundraising Letter Reminds Residents How They Can Help Neighbors in Need

(Westwood Community Chest)

The Westwood Community Chest (WCC), a community-based non-profit organization dedicated to improving the well-being and quality of life for the residents of Westwood, has launched its Annual Neighbors Helping Neighbors Campaign, its most important and impactful effort of the year.

Residents are reminded in the Annual Campaign letter, authored by co-presidents Jim McLaughlin and Anne Cloherty Fortune, how important their financial support is to the success of WCC’s mission.

WCC works closely with liaisons from town organizations who help identify families at risk and connects those families with resources to address their critical immediate need. Throughout the assessment and application process, all applicant information is kept private and strictly confidential.

“We are lucky to live in a community that cares for its neighbors,” said Jim McLaughlin. “We are grateful for our partnership with liaisons from Westwood town organizations who help identify individuals and families at risk and connect them to the Community Chest.”

In the last year alone, WCC provided more than $140,000 in grants to nearly 100 individuals and families. This included helping to provide enriching summer camp experiences for deserving young people through the Summer Campership Program.

Residents of Westwood received the Annual Appeal letter and a pledge envelope via USPS mail and are urged to consider making a tax-deductible donation. Residents are also asked to encourage their employers to match the donation if such a matching program exists at their workplace.

More information and a link to donate to the 2024 Annual Appeal can be found at the WCC website, www.westwoodcommunitychest.org
