Westwood Native Breaks School Record in Long Jump
Westwood native Kyle Darrow also set the previous long jump record of 7.72 meters in April 2015 at the UMass Invitational.

Following the Northeastern University (NU) track and field teams' successful first weekend of spring competition, the Huskies swept the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) men's weekly honors, as announced by the league on Tuesday, March 29.
Junior Kyle Darrow earned Men's Field Athlete of the Week, his third CAA weekly nod during his time at NU, and juniorKwame Fordwor picked up Men's Track Athlete of the Week, his first career CAA weekly accolade.

Darrow shattered the outdoor long jump school record at the Rice University Victor Lopez Classic in Houston, Texas on Friday, March 25 through Saturday, March 26 after taking home gold in the event with 7.78 meters, third in the NCAA Division I East Outdoor Qualifying List.
The Westwood native set the previous long jump record (7.72 meters) at the UMass Invitational in April 2015 and ranked 19th nationally in the current season's Division I USTFCCCA preseason poll with that mark.

Fordwor, along with Darrow, Jared Lane and Donovan Henry, earned bronze in the 4-by-100-meter relay with 40.49 and third on NU's All-Time Outdoor Performance List. Johannesburg, South Africa native Fordwor was also NU's top performer in the 100-meter dash with 10.96 - good for 18th place. Fordwor currently ranks ninth at NU in the event (10.78).
The Huskies head to Gainesville, Fla. for the Florida Relays on Friday, April 1 through Saturday, April 2.
