Westwood Softball Fall Registration and Team Updates

Please read for a few important messages from Westwood Youth Softball! First, registration
for the 10U, 12U, and 14U fall season will close on August 13th, so register soon! The season runs from early September through the end of October. These age groups play in the Charles River Girls Softball League, which includes nearby towns such as Dorchester, Holliston, Medfield, Natick, Needham, Newton, Parkway, Wayland, Waltham, Watertown, and Weston. All games are played on Sundays. There is also a registration open for the 8U age level. The league of play and game times will be determined later in August, but signs up also close August 13th. Second, we would like to acknowledge some of the successes of the spring Norfolk County Softball League (NCSL) teams as well as the summer tournament teams! This spring, Jason Kitayama’s 4/5th grade team and Paul Tartufo’s 6/7/8th grade teams each won the Westwood town playoffs. Kitayama’s team went on to win the NCSL championship in an exciting game against Walpole! Tartufo’s team made it to the NCSL championship game where they lost 2-1 to Norwood, but the girls played great and never gave up! The summer tournament teams at the 10U, 12U, and 16U levels have played in a combined 11 tournaments in MA and RI with one more to go in NH. The girls have played against very tough teams, but achieved a combined record of 36-18. The 12U team won the Billerica Spring Fling tournament in May and the 16U team won the Fitchburg Battle N’ the Burg tournament July 23! Lastly, we hope everyone has a great rest of the summer and we look forward to more softball fun this fall!
