Ex-Weymouth Cop Could Be Decertified After Brutal Force Accusation
Justin Chappell struck a suspect's legs with a baton several times and punched his head several times in a 2022 arrest, officials said.

WEYMOUTH, MA — A former Weymouth police officer could lose his certification after an investigation found that he used "excessive force" during an arrest in 2022, Weymouth Police Chief Richard Fuller told Boston25.
According to Boston25, which obtained footage of the July 2, 2022 arrest of a man who was intoxicated and causing a disturbance, Officer Justin Chappell struck the suspect's legs with a baton several times and punched his head several times as multiple officers struggled to get the suspect in the back of the police car.
“The investigation found that several of these strikes were unnecessary and improper,” Fuller told the outlet.
