Main Street Grille: Community Hub For Food, Drinks and Sports

The Main Street Grille, owned by Chris DiMambro and Keith Dupuis, opened its doors in November 2003.

The Main Street Grille, 1400 Main Street in South Weymouth, strives to have something for everyone, whether it's a place to watch the game, have a family dinner or  grab drinks with friends.

"It's a very diverse crowd," co-owner Chris DiMambro said of patrons that range vastly in age and income, a model he and partner Keith Dupuis set out to achieve when they opened Main Street Grille in November 2003.

The Main Street Grille's menu is filled with approachable bar classics like burgers, pizzas, baked haddock and mac and cheese. "Steak tips are definitely the king entree that everyone orders," said DiMambro.

The menu also has specialty egg rolls, filled with a range of ingredients like chicken parm, steak and cheese and buffalo chicken.

Main Street isn't just a bar for the weekends, the restaurant offers specials all week to keep patrons coming, like $4 pizza on Monday and twin lobsters on Thursday.  Two for one entrees on Tuesday are especially popular with families.
"You can't cook at home for that kind of money," DiMambro said.

Main Street has come a long way from when the restaurant veterans bought the Katmandu Cafe a decade ago.

"It looked like a shanty bar," DiMambro said, remembering the buoys and shark's head that decorated the restaurant before he and Dupuis took over.

They redid the place before opening it and continue to invest in the Weymouth restaurant. The menu was revamped about three months ago, and DiMambro expects to do a few maintenance projects this year.

The restaurant is more than just a place for the community to meet, the owners are active in Weymouth. That is especially  true with the Weymouth Public Schools as they provide free meals to students for good grades. They also sponsor an essay contest that gives a well-rounded WHS senior $500 worth of food and a DJ for a graduation party.
