MBTA Shut Down, Weymouth Landing Commuter Station Quiet

With a manhunt continuing in Watertown, the East Braintree/Weymouth Landing MBTA Station is empty.

On a normal Friday, the parking spaces at the East Braintree/Weymouth Landing MBTA Station would be full and patrons would be waiting to board one of the inbound trains. Today, however, is not a normal Friday.

Governor Deval Patrick has ordered that all MBTA services, that includes the T, commuter lines and buses, be suspended indefinitely as police search for one of the two men suspected of killing three and injuring more than 170 people at the Boston Marathon on Monday.

The parking lots were empty and the only signs of life at the Weymouth Landing station were three parked cabs. Cab service was briefly suspended in Boston earlier today, but the ban did not extend to the South Shore.
