South Shore Hospital Earns 'Most Wired' Distinction

For the second consecutive year, the South Shore Hospital was recognized by the 2013 Most Wired Survey released in Hospitals & Health Networks magazine.

For the second year in a row, South Shore Hospital was named one of the Most Wired hospitals by Hospitals & Health Networks magazine.

The Weymouth hospital is one of nine in Massachusetts and 291 nationwide to be recognized in the 2013 Health Care’s Most Wired Survey.

The survey, which asks respondents about their IT initiatives, was completed by representatives of  1,713 hospitals nationwide.

“This elite national distinction is a rewarding recognition of the commitment that our information systems and clinical informatics teams have made in recent years to automate our advanced clinical systems and provide technologies that contribute to quality, safe and reliable solutions within the patients’ experience.  Our investments in the building blocks to be a Most Wired Hospital are really stepping stones to a larger vision to enable mobile technologies that will support nomadic and fluid wireless solutions for our caregivers in years ahead. I am very proud of the teamwork that made this distinction possible,” said Del Dixon, vp information systems, CIO.
