Woman Killed In Weymouth Hit-And-Run Early Saturday: Police
Weymouth police are urging the driver in the fatal strike to turn themselves in for questioning.
WEYMOUTH, MA — A 61-year-old woman was struck and killed while walking in the area of Pleasant Street in Weymouth early Saturday morning.
Weymouth police are urging the driver, who fled the scene, to "do the right thing and turn themselves in at the Weymouth Police Department."
Police said a Weymouth police officer found the woman about 2:45 a.m lying on the sidewalk and immediately attempted life-saving procedures, which were not successful.

Police said investigators are trying to figure out the circumstances surrounding the strike and want the driver to come forward.
The woman's name has not been released pending notification of her family.
