• The Lakeside Inn getting fresh start after years of vacancy (westernmassnews.com) — A long-vacant landmark on Nine Mile Pond is being transformed into a 15-room Lakeside Inn with a 100-seat restaurant, bringing new life and visitors to Wilbraham. Construction is slated to start in March, with hopes of opening by the end of next year. Neighbors and town officials are enthusiastic about new waterfront lodging, dining, and recreation options.

• Palmer Pine Street fire determined not suspicious (wwlp.com) — Wilbraham firefighters were among several neighboring departments that helped battle a fast-moving, three-alarm house fire on Pine Street in Palmer, which investigators say does not appear suspicious. Crews contained the blaze after more than an hour, and all residents escaped safely. One firefighter was treated and released, while investigators continue to examine accidental causes.
