Roadway Grinding, Paving Happening on Area Roads This Week
Work will impact travel on several roads in town. Here's what you need to know.

The Wilmington Department of Public Works will be grinding and resurfacing several roads in town starting Monday, May 11. In case of inclement weather or scheduling delays with the town’s roadway contractor, the date for this work could be postponed.
The following streets in town are on the list for grinding and resurfacing starting this week:
- Nichols Street
- Fairmeadow Road
- Jere Road
- Flagstaff Road
- Harris Street
- Cedar Street
During grinding and paving operations, Nichols Street, Harris Street and Cedar Street may be closed in one direction, depending on traffic conditions and equipment accessibility.

Officials want residents to be aware that this restriction may be altered during construction for concerns due to safety or traffic volume. Area residents will have access to and from their properties at all times, although there may be some short delays.
Drivers are asked to obey the directives of police details, detour signs and warning signs during all construction operations.
