Here’s more from the National Weather Service:
- While the main potential for this activity is to the northwest of Boston to the Providence line, the highest risk exists across western Massachusetts and northern Connecticut.
- The main risk with any strong to severe thunderstorm will be isolated, damaging wind gusts and hail the size of quarters. Dangerous cloud to ground lightning and locally heavy rainfall may result in poor drainage street flooding.
- Residents are reminded when you hear thunder you are close enough to get struck by lightning and should seek an inside shelter immediately.
