Wilmington Teen Faces Several Charges in Michigan Threats

The teen, whose arraignment was scheduled for Friday, will now be back in court on Wednesday, June 24.

The arraignment for a Wilmington teen arrested for making bomb threats to schools in Michigan scheduled for Friday has been continued until Wednesday, June 24, according to a Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan and Wilmington Police Chief Michael Begonis.

The teen, identified as a juvenile, is facing charges that include two counts of a bomb/hijack threat and two counts of threatening to commit a crime

Authorities say during an investigation into a bomb threat case in Rockford, Michigan, they traced Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to residences in Massachusetts where the Wilmington teenager has been living.

The threats against schools in Michigan began on Oct. 24, 2014 and continued until Jan. 16, 2015. It is alleged this defendant used email, voice calls, robotic sounding or digitized voice calls, and Twitter accounts to threaten students in the Rockford School District.

These charges are allegations and the defendant is presumed innocent until proven guilty.

This case has been investigated by the Wilmington Police Department, the FBI, and the Kent County Sheriff’s Department in Michigan.

The prosecutor assigned to this case is Assistant District Attorney Elizabeth Barnes.
