UPDATE: Cambridge Road Shut Down as Police Search for Woburn Robbery Suspect

Suspect may be on foot in the area.

Police shut down the Winchester side of Cambridge Road, entering Woburn as officers looked for a robbery suspect Tuesday afternoon. All traffic was being diverted onto Pond Street. The area has since been reopened.

A Woburn police officer was shot at Musto Jewelers at the Four Corners intersection, according to police and fire department crews.

State police as well as police from surrounding towns, including Wakefield, Lexington, Billerica, Burlington, Waltham, Winchester Lincoln and Wilmington are at the scene.

Details are still sketchy but initial reports say there was a gunfight between police and two or three suspects shortly after 11 a.m on Tuesday.

One of the suspects was reportedly shot and apprehended near 180 Lexington St. Another suspect is believed to be on foot near the McDonalds there. Police are advising people who live in the area to lock their doors.

A mobile command center has been set up by the sherrif's department.
