Car v. Bridge and More in Police Logs for Sept. 16 to Sept. 19

10:05 a.m., Sept. 16: Someone turned in a cell phone they found on Sunday.

6:55 p.m., Sept. 16: Officers were conducting a traffic post at the intersection of Main Street and Lawson Road when they saw a car driving 43 miles per hour in a 30 mile per hour zone. The officer pulled the driver over and saw that the front plate was different than the back plate. The driver told the officer that they had just purchased the car and that the registry had given them the wrong plates. The driver was given a warning.

12:26 p.m., Sept. 16: Officers responded to a report of harassing phone calls. The victim received three calls from a harmful number. The victim determined that the number came from Somerville. Police advised the victim to call their phone provider and have the number blocked.

11:42 p.m., Sept. 16: Officers responded to a report of a larceny from a vehicle in the Stop and Shop parking lot. The victim told police that someone broke into their car and stole a laptop while they were shopping. The laptop was worth $600.

7:30 a.m., Sept. 18: A car attempting to turn left onto Highland Avenue from Myrtle Terrace struck an oncoming car on Highland avenue.

7:57 p.m., Sept. 18: Police responded to a report of a suspicious man in a blue van who reportedly offered a ride to two sixth grade girls walking on Lincoln Street at about 3:30 p.m.. The van was traveling south on Washington Street when the driver pulled over. The victim told police that there were four people in the car. The girls ran towards the center of town. The schools were informed of this and sent out an email blast. This investigation is ongoing.

7:30 a.m., Sept. 19: A car failed to stop at the stop sign while turning left from Blossom Hill Road to Cambridge Street. The car crashed into a vehicle traveling through the intersection. Both cars were significantly damaged, but no injuries were reported.

8:00 a.m., Sept. 19: A vehicle was rear ended on Cambridge Street.

12:02 p.m., Sept. 19: Car v. Bridge. A truck struck the The Cross Street bridge.
