WINCHESTER, MA — Police are investigating whether a dog was shot to death after its owner said it was fatally wounded while they were on a walk together in a Winchester forest, according to multiple reports including WCVB.

The dog's owner reported hearing gunshots Monday evening just before finding his dog, who was off-leash, dead off Sussex Road—but can't confirm that the injuries are due to a gunshot, WCVB reported.
