Embattled Winchester Principal Sean Kiley Says Truth Will Be Exposed

It's been over two weeks since the resignation of WHS principal Sean Kiley was announced and the community is still seeking the truth.

Parents, teachers, and Winchester residents packed the Town Hall auditorium Wednesday night, seeking answers regarding the supposed resignation of Winchester High School principal Sean Kiley.

Some parents have resorted to signing petitions in an effort to recall members of the School Committee. A great deal of confusion swept throughout the community when Kiley denounced Superintendent Judith Evans’ email stating he had resigned from his post.

Residents want answers regarding what really took place between Evans and Kiley. Kiley is well-liked by all members of the school committee. With that said, some feel the only way to get the answers they seek is to enact a bold course of action, and that’s initiating a recall. Others are opposed to the idea of a recall. Some understand a recall would not help Kiley retain his role as principal.

As the start to a new school year draws near, feelings of deceit could soon be relieved. The truth is coming, according to Kiley, who broke his silence in wake of Wednesday’s gathering.

In an email to the Winchester Star, Kiley said ”I am very much looking forward to the truth coming out, and you may be hearing about it within the day.” Kiley said he views the unfolding saga as an “opportunity to teach the students about integrity.”

Superintendeant Evans apologized for the lack of answers and thanked the high school community for their patience in an email earlier this week.

In the email, Evans said, “I am committed to resolving this issue before the start of the school year on Sept. 8.”
