Heat Advisory Issued for Winchester

Here is some information to get you through Tuesday, July 17.

1. Today will be the hottest day in the past week for Winchester. Temperatures are expected to reach 96 degrees throughout the day and fall to 73 this evening. The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Winchester from 1 to 7 p.m. today. The heat index is 102 degrees.

2. With the potential dangerous heat, brush up on some tips on how to stay cool today. The National Weather Service says heat causes more fatalities per year than floods, lightning, tornadoes and hurricanes. to keep you safe.

3. The Middlesex Fells Dog Owner Group is hosting "Living with Coyotes" tonight from 7 to 9 at the Botume House in the Middlesex Fells Reservation. This seminar is for residents to better understand the coyote population and how to protect your pets and yourself. John Marguanis, Project Coyote Massachusetts Representative and Belmont Animal Control Officer will be leading the discussion.
