LETTER: "Colarusso Committed to Issues Important to District"

A letter to the editor of Winchester Patch.

Dear Editor,

Caroline Colarusso has the experience and commitment to be an effective, full-time State Representative for

the people of Winchester and Stoneham.

Caroline’s background in professional senior management for over 20 years, her tenure on the Stoneham
Finance & Advisory Board, and her outstanding work as a Selectwoman in her community, illustrate her ability to listen to constituents and successfully address their issues, to work in a bi-partisan manner with her
colleagues, and to recognize town-wide problems while taking a leadership role in solving them.

In the short time since she was elected as a Selectwoman, Caroline has been instrumental in lowering
property taxes, water/sewer rates, and trash fees in Stoneham without diminishing services; and she has
supported small business growth in her hometown with the introduction of commercial tax incentives.

Additionally, Caroline has held seminars to discuss concerns of both Winchester and Stoneham residents over the inappropriate Chapter 40B developments currently being proposed in each of these towns. She
understands how negatively these particular projects will impact schools, water/sewer facilities, traffic safety,
and quality of life for residents in both communities. As a state representative, she would immediately file
legislation to revise and update the present Chapter 40B law to allow communities and their local boards
more control over the appropriateness and scope of such developments.

Because Caroline recognized the severity of the opioid crisis across our Commonwealth, she initiated funding
for an Addiction Coordinator in her hometown as a step toward combating this devastating problem that has
taken a tragic toll on young and old alike.

Caroline has a long history of giving back to her community, through youth activities, volunteer service, and
elected office, and she is committed to addressing the issues, problems, and needs of everyone in our district.
She is a competent leader who will work for residents in Winchester the same way she has for her constituents in Stoneham; and she is determined to bring responsible, efficient, accountable, and cost
effective policies to Beacon Hill.

It is for these reasons that we encourage you to join us in voting for Caroline Colarusso for State
Representative on Election Day, November 8th.
