Portion of Winchester Center MBTA Stop Closed

A portion of the stop was closed after inspectors found a hole opened up in the inbound platform last week.

The Town of Winchester informed residents that a portion of the Winchester Center MBTA stop is closed.

The town said it was informed by the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority that a structural engineer inspected a hole that opened up in the inbound platform last week. As a result, a 500-foot portion of the platform, from the north end at the rotary to the southern side of the Waterfield Road bridge, has been closed.

The ramp entrance at the Quill Rotary off of Laraway Road has also been closed.
