WEATHER UPDATE: Strong Thunderstorms, Hail Possible for Winchester

Weather forecasters said a few strong to severe thunderstorms are possible Tuesday.

A few strong to severe thunderstorms could be making their way through Winchester this afternoon and early this evening, according to a hazardous weather outlook issued by the National Weather Service.

Weather forecasters said the main risks of the possible storms are locally strong to damaging wind gusts and isolated hail. Additionally, heavy rainfall could result in localized street flooding.

This hazardous weather outlook is issued for all of Massachusetts except Berkshire County.

The National Weather Service said there is a 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 3 p.m. The chance of rain will continue into the evening, with a 30 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9 p.m.

Conditions Tuesday are expected to be sunny, with a high near 88 degrees, then a chance of thunderstorms in the afternoon, the NWS said. The low temperature will drop down around 68 degrees tonight.
