Winchester Approves Funds for Several Priority Projects

At a recent town meeting, the Winchester Board of Selectman approved necessary funding for an array of priority capital projects across town.
According to the Capital Planning Committee, a little over $1.8 million is available between the Capital and Building Funds, the general fund, and other closeouts. The funds are available for the fiscal year 2017.
A $215,000 bridge repair over Horn Pond Brook, a $270,000 replacement of emergency services dispatch systems, and a $50,000 paving job at the Muraco Elementary School play area, were among the projects approved under the Capital Stabilization Fund.

Under the Building Stabilization Fund, the town approved a $125,000 rebuild of the library’s chimney, among other minor projects.
