Winchester Democrat Supports Caroline Colarusso

In a Letter to the Editor, resident says Colarusso will be 100 percent dedicated to our children.

A Letter to the Editor from Theresa Beach:

I am a registered Democrat, but I am voting for the right person to hold the State Representative job for Winchester and Stoneham. Caroline Colarusso is a Republican, but I strongly believe she is the most dedicated, authentic candidate for the position. This election is too important to blindly vote via party line. This is an election where the candidate will serve our home towns! This is where we live, and the candidate’s dedication directly impacts our children and everyday lives. These issues are close to home and PERSONAL. We need to know these people as this goes far beyond a party philosophy.

I am a mom raising my son here in Winchester and a new homeowner laying down roots here in a place we call home. I have come to know Caroline and also her oldest son Anthony who has been a mentor for my son and my son adores him. Caroline is deeply authentic, intelligent, dedicated to our children’s well-being and I respect her greatly. She and her husband have raised 3 boys, all impressive and kind young gentlemen. They are all very good people and a testament to the quality of their parents. Caroline is equally dedicated to our children’s well-being and I can see these values in her oldest son Anthony.

As a member of the Stoneham Board of Selectmen she has dedicated herself to the position. Many that hold that office, do not put in nearly the same amount of time. She has had significant impact in the role and is always available to help the people she serves. On the other hand, her opponent, Michael Day is a full-time lawyer, a partner in his law firm raising 3 young children. How is it possible that he has any time to dedicate to the residents of Winchester and Stoneham? He has more than full time responsibilities with a job and a young family. Our district has over 40,000 people in it both towns.

Caroline strongly believes that the issues facing the district require a full time representative and I agree with her. Issues as important as working to reform the Chapter 70 school aid formula, striving to make sure health care is affordable, supporting and rebuilding our local schools and improving student services, fighting the opioid crisis, improving the transportation infrastructure to relieve commuting and traffic pressures, protecting our communities from the impact of large and inappropriate development and state mandates, increasing transparency in state agencies and preserving what little remains of our natural environment. All of this requires full time attention and Caroline has a track record of working hard for her constituents.

She has the support of Paul Manganaro, longtime dedicated Winchester youth sports volunteer and organizer who has been helping Winchester youth for countless years. She also has the support of Andrea Phelan who deeply cares about our children and their education.

We NEED someone that cares about our children. This role has a direct impact on their well-being and their future. We need someone that will dedicate themselves to our towns FULL-TIME and not be making “an effort” in his off-hours. Please be aware and mindful how your voting impacts our children’s future. This is NOT a party philosophical decision, this is personal. The Caroline that I know will be 100% dedicated to our children and always be there for the people she serves.
