Swim Winchester, a local non-profit pushing for the construction of a pool, could finally be nearing its wish.
At Monday’s meeting, the board reviewed three possible site locations, which were proposed by Swim Winchester, the Daily Times Chronicle reports. Skillings Field, Leonard Field and the Wildwood Cemetery were among the possible sites.

The board indicated that they were interested in exploring the Wildwood Cemetery. Swim Winchester now plans to draft a proposal for further consideration. Swim Winchester has been leading the community’s efforts to land a pool for many years.
The cemetery site is favored as opposed to the others because the land is currently unused.

It’s within close distance of Winchester High School and the town center. It also comes with shared parking with the nearby beach and tennis courts. One disadvantage is the size of the site is smaller in comparison to the others.
