Winchester to Implement Downtown Parking Changes

The town hopes to increase the availability of short-term parking options and to improve long-term parking opportunities for residents.

The Winchester Board of Selectmen have been working over the past several years to implement changes to on-street and off-street parking regulations in the Town Center. The goal of these changes has been to increase the availability of short-term parking options downtown and to improve long-term parking opportunities for Winchester resident commuters and employees of the Town Center businesses.

As a result of these changes, the Town will be moving forward in the next several weeks with the relocation of the Cullen Lot permit parking spaces from their current location to a dedicated block of parking spaces on Shore Road.

The Cullen Lot will be retrofitted with a pay-by-space parking meter similar to those currently located on Laraway Road at the Town Common and in the Aberjona Parking Lot. The new machine will allow users to purchase unlimited time at the pay station for $1 per hour between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturdays.
