Winchester Natives Earn Honors at University of Rhode Island

A pair of local residents qualified for the Dean's List at the University of Rhode Island.

A pair of Winchester natives were recently named to the Dean’s List at the University of Rhode Island (URI).

The University of Rhode Island, located in Kingston, Rhode Island, announced more than 4,600 undergraduate students qualified for the Spring 2015 Dean’s List. Winchester residents, Andrew Vahan Hintlian and Robert Adam Piispanen, were among the list of students named to the Dean’s List.

To be qualify for the Dean’s List at the university, students must complete 12 or more credit hours during a semester for letter grades with at least a 3.30 quality point average.

According to the University of Rhode Island, almost all of Rhode Island’s cities and towns, all six New England states, New York and New Jersey, other states and countries are represented among URI’s student body. More than half of the students enrolled at the university are from Rhode Island.
