Crowley Named Assistant Superintendent of Woburn Schools

Matthew Crowley comes into the new position having spent nearly 20 years as a teacher and headmaster at Brockton High School.

The Woburn School Committee recently selected Matthew Crowley as the city’s new assistant superintendent of public schools.

Crowley, who was unanimously voted in as assistant superintendent, will serve as Gary Reese’s replacement. Reese departed for the interim superintendent post at Amesbury Public Schools over the summer.

Crowley comes into the new position having spent nearly 20 years as a teacher and headmaster at Brockton High School, which is Massachusetts’ largest public high school.

According to school officials, Crowley was selected from a 53-person pool of applicants. Crowley was coveted for the unwavering work he put in over the years to help raise Brockton’s MCAS scores.

Crowley previously spent time as a history teacher in Brockton.
