Center for Manufacturing Technology publishes summer-fall schedule

Woburn-based advanced manufacturing training center offers many grant-funded opportunities for the unemployed and underemployed.

The Center for Advanced Manufacturing, a Woburn-based career and technical education (CTE) facility specializing in machine shop training, recently published its current summer and fall schedule of 18 on-site courses to help the unemployed, underemployed and incumbent workers to enter and build careers in the booming field of advanced manufacturing. Each course is a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on laboratory training on state-of-the-art equipment in a machine shop setting. Courses include advanced inspection, blueprint reading, computer numerical control (CNC) milling setup, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), introduction to general machine shop practices, and Mastercam computer-aided manufacturing software. Many courses are grant-funded, offering qualified candidates free tuition.

Founded in 2009 and celebrating its 15th anniversary in 2024, Custom Training Center is helping to fill the critical shortage of skilled workers in advanced manufacturing. To view CMT's online course calendar, please visit www.CustomTrainingCenter.com.
