Autism Awareness Storytime

From the Woburn Public Library:

In celebration of Autism Awareness Month, NuPath, Inc. and the Woburn Public Library have teamed up to present an Autism Awareness Storytime on Wednesday, April 11, 2012, from 3:30—4:30 p.m. All ages are invited to come and listen to stories featuring children with autism, read by NuPath’s Human Resources Director, Laure Porter. The Children’s Room will have a display of materials available for borrowing on autism and Asberger’s syndrome. NuPath will present a new book on autism for the Children’s Room collection. Refreshments will be available at the conclusion of the program.

This program especially targets children who may know other children with autism, but who may not understand what makes them different. Children who have autism or Asberger’s syndrome are welcome to come, too. Autism Awareness Month seeks to appreciate the differences while
providing information about the disorder. By providing stories and information, people of all ages may become more open to understanding, befriending, and helping those with autism who are part of their daily lives, whether in school, at the bus stop, at work, or in other venues.

This event is handicapped accessible. If accommodations are required, please call the library at 781-933-0148 for further information.
