Community Corner

Candlelight Vigil

In the wake of the shooting of Woburn Police Officer Robert DeNapoli and the manhunt that ensued through the streets of Woburn on Tuesday, we invite the Woburn community to gather together for a time of unity, reflection, ecumnical prayer, and conversation at a Candlelight Vigil to be held in Woburn Center this Sunday evening, September 11th, at 7pm.

We invite community members of all backgrounds and religious tranditions to join us for this event.

We will pray for Officer DeNapoli's recovery, our local law enforcement - and mindful of the 10th anniversary of 9/11 - all the first responders that keep our communities safe.

We love our town. Woburn is a great city and one of our greatest strengths is our sense of community and belonging. It binds us together in good times and bad, just as it did at the shooting of in December. It is this strength that will we seek to honor and support at the vigil.

The vigil will take place in Woburn Center (specific spot to be announced). Coffee will be served afterward at the First Baptist Church at the corner of Main and Winn street. First Baptist will also serve as the vigil site in case of inclement weather.
