FBI: Woburn Bank Robbery Suspect May Strike Again

Boston-based FBI agents say the "Incognito Bandit" is armed, dangerous, and likely to strike again.

Boston-based FBI agents say the “Incognito Bandit” is armed, dangerous, and they fear he may strike again while on the run.

“We consider him to be armed and dangerous and we’re concerned that he will commit armed bank robberies in the near term,” FBI Agent Daniel R. Romanzo told the Boston Herald.

On Sept. 5, the masked robber entered the Citizens Bank on Russell Street in Woburn wielding a semi-automatic handgun. With socks oddly pulled over his shoes, the bandit made off with $8,000.

The suspect, who is described as a white man in his 20s or 30s, was holding a handgun when he walked into the bank. He then “verbally demanded cash” before fleeing the establishment on foot.

The man’s identity was completely hidden from security cameras as he was wearing a mask, sunglasses, gloves, a hoodie and dark pants, but one unique piece of attire caught the eye of FBI officials.

“One thing that stood out is the fact he pulled his socks over his shoes. I haven’t seen it in my experience,” Romanzo said.
