Firefighters Handle Car Fire on 93N
Woburn and Stoneham Fire quickly handled a car fire on 93 this afternoon.
Woburn and Stoneham firefighters quickly extinguished a car fire on Route 93 North shortly before noon today.
The car fire closed down the two left lanes of the northbound highway for about an hour.
According to Mass State Police spokesman David Procopio, a 1991 Toyota van operated by an 82-year-old Lawrence man caught fire on 93 North by the Salem Street overpass.

The fire, which was reported at 11:40 a.m., brought firefighters from both Woburn and Stoneham to the scene. The fire was quickly extinguished and both departments cleared the incident shortly before 12:30 p.m., allowing traffic back into the two left lanes on the highway.
There were no injuries in the incident and the van was towed from the highway. Traffic should be back to normal at this time, with minor delays from the lane closures.
