Oct. 31—A gas leak set forth an explosion and blaze that injured several people, including two firefighters, 20 years ago today.
POLICE LOG: Facepainter's Friends Threaten Woburn Family
Oct. 26—At 3:21 p.m., a Woburn woman reported someone is fraudulently using her identity while incarcerated in a prison in East Los Angeles.
Oct. 29—At 8:25 p.m., a Woburn couple reported receiving threats from men affiliated with a facepainter hired for children’s parties. According to police, the couple admitted they did not pay the facepainter for a party held in December. The couple told police the callers threatened bodily harm. Police stood by while the couple called the facepainter and promised payment.
POLICE LOG: Home Egged on Halloween Night
Oct. 31—At 9:26 p.m., police assisted Burlington Police with investigating an incident in that town. According to police, a suspect or suspects driving a black sedan were involved in a BB-gun-shooting incident on Randal Drive. Following information from Burlington, Woburn Police found the suspects on Millyan Road. Police called Burlington to come to the scene and follow-up. Two BB-guns were confiscated by Burlington Police, who are still investigating the incident.
POLICE LOG: Smashing Pumpkins Cause Damage
Nov. 1—At 9:08 a.m., a Dorchester man reported his car vandalized overnight while parked on Houghton Street. According to police, the car was damaged by a large pumpkin thrown at the windshield, causing the window to shatter. Police believe the pumpkin was thrown someone in a moving vehicle. Police also noted that several smashed pumpkins were found in the area.
