Memorial Day Events In Woburn: What We Know

Woburn will host a series of events at the Woburn Common in observance of Memorial Day on May.30

WOBURN, MA — The following events have been planned for Memorial Day and will occur in the Woburn Common to honor those who have served or are serving in the United States Military.

The event, which takes place Monday, May 30, and starts at 9 a.m., will feature the following services:

  • Pledge of Allegiance by United Veterans Council Commander George Poole
  • Opening Remarks by United Veterans Council Commander George Poole
  • Statement from the Mayor of Woburn Scott Galvin
  • Reading Governors Proclamation by a Woburn High School student
  • Statement from Woburn Veterans Director Bob Davis
  • Logan’s Order from a Woburn High School Student
  • Roll Call with Drum Roll by the United Veterans Council
  • Firing of Volley by American Legion Post 101
  • Taps performed by the Woburn City Band
  • A Performance of the National Anthem

There will be no curbside trash or recycling collection in observance of the holiday, and the weekly schedule will move forward by one day. City Hall and other City administrative offices will reopen for business on Tuesday, May 31st. The city police, fire and other public safety services will be available throughout the holiday weekend.
