Obituary: James E. Landry, Longtime Resident, Former Merchant Marine

James E. “Jim” Landry died Monday, July 27, in York, Maine. He was 72 years old.
Landry, born in Boston, was raised in Cambridge and Somerville. He was a 1960 graduate of Malden Catholic High School and went on to graduate from the Massachusetts Maritime Academy in 1963.
Landry sailed with the Merchant Marines for a couple of years after graduating from the academy and then entered the professional workforce as an engineer.

Landry married his wife, Marge, in 1966 and settled in Malden before moving to Woburn in 1968. Jim Landry was a father to two daughters and a grandfather to four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at the Lynch-Cantillon Funeral Home, 263 Main St., at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 1. A funeral mass will follow at St. Barbara’s Church, 138 Cambridge Road, at 10 a.m. Family and friends are kindly invited to call at the Funeral Home on Friday from p.m. 4 to 8 p.m.
