MCC Alumni Receive Guinness World Records Recognition (patch.com) — Two Woburn siblings, Jasmin and Justin Marwad, have earned Guinness World Records recognition with their brother for consecutive university graduations, after starting their studies at Middlesex Community College and transferring to UMass Lowell. They credit MCC’s supportive environment, hands-on learning, and STEM focus for launching careers at Teradyne and inspiring their ongoing Ph.D. studies.
   

2. 27 Local Firefighters Graduate from Firefighting Academy (mass.gov) — A Woburn firefighter was among 28 graduates of the Massachusetts Firefighting Academy’s latest 10-week recruit class, with Firefighter Danielle Crawford earning the class’s top Outstanding Student Award. The story explains the intensive training new firefighters complete and how it prepares them to protect communities across the state, including Woburn.
   

3. Twins Kaleigh and Ryley McCarthy, determined D propel No. 10 Woburn girls' basketball past Arlington (bostonglobe.com) — Woburn girls’ basketball, led by twins Kaleigh and Ryley McCarthy, edged Arlington thanks to tough defense, key three-pointers, and late free throws. Charges in July shooting case moved to Superior Court following grand jury indictment (walthamtimes.org) — A Middlesex Superior Court session in Woburn has taken over a serious July shooting case, with a Waltham man now facing multiple firearm and assault charges after a grand jury indictment. He remains held without bail as he awaits a dangerousness hearing, while a co-defendant’s related case continues in Waltham District Court.

Trump's $1.5T Defense Budget Protects ‘Warfighters, Not Wall Street': DOD (military.com) — Woburn gets a brief spotlight as Trump singles out Raytheon, whose local facility is part of a broader clash over defense spending and stock buybacks.
