As a result of the investigation police arrested Clifton Moore, 49, of Playstead Road, Malden, on charges of Trafficking a Class A substance (2 counts) failure to register as level 3 sex offender, possession with intent to distribute class B substance, and a school zone violation.

Woburn charges are also pending as well as the arrest of the Woburn supplier, Gatcomb said.

Investigators learned one of the seized vehicles may have a drug hide within.  Malden Detective Disalvatore obtained a search warrant, and along with Woburn Detective Piazza and members of the Worcester DEA, executed the warrant in Malden.  A sophisticated hide was found which contained hundreds of oxycodone pills as well as a loaded 9mm handgun.

Moore will be facing numerous additional charges, possibly to include being an armed career criminal, Gatcomb stated.

See attached pictures above of the seized pistol and videos of the hide, which investigators estimate could cost upwards of $20,000 to install. The hide was found under a rear seat of a minivan containing pistons that actually lift the floor when hidden wires were triggered.

"We are glad to have removed another gun from the street, and once again disrupted the local street drug trade with the assistance of Malden and Woburn detectives as well as the DEA task force," Gatcomb said.
