POLICE LOG: Accidents and an Alleged Armed Robbery

An excerpt from the Woburn Police Department's Dec. 21 police log.

The following is an excerpt from the  log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Dec. 20 -

  • At 11:39 a.m., a New Hampshire woman reported her cell phone stolen while she was at a party in Woburn on Dec. 18.
  • At 3:06 p.m., police were called to Main and Wheeling streets when a Woburn woman's car jumped the curb and sideswiped a utility pole in front of Wheeling Street. According to police, the woman took her eyes off the road when the accident occurred.
  • At 3:22 p.m., police responded to a report of a two-car accident at Pleasant and Federal streets. According to the report, one driver failed to stay in a marked lane, while another's cell phone use both contributed to the crash.
  • At 4:41 p.m., a patrolman stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Memorial Drive and Beach Street, after the driver failed to stop at a stop sign. According to the report, the man was issued a citation for unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a stop sign violation. The female owner of the car was also issued a citation for allowing an unlicensed operator to use the vehicle.
  • At 7:45 p.m., police responded to a report of an armed robbery on Inwood Drive. According to police, two men threatened the victim, who gave the suspects cash and his cell phone.
