POLICE LOG: Facepainter's Friends Threaten Woburn Family

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Featured Call of the Day:

Oct. 29 – At 8:25 p.m., a Woburn couple reported receiving threats from men affiliated with a facepainter hired for children’s parties. According to police, the couple admitted they did not pay the facepainter for a party held in December. The couple told police the callers threatened bodily harm. Police stood by while the couple called the facepainter and promised payment.

Oct. 26 –

At 9:39 a.m., a Henshaw Street organization reported a missing dumpster. According to police, the 50-gallon dumpster was stolen over the last week.

At 3:21 p.m., a Woburn woman reported someone is fraudulently using her identity while incarcerated in a prison in East Los Angeles.

At 4:12 p.m., a Woburn woman reported her bank notified her that her ATM card was used in France earlier in the day. The woman told police she did not authorize the purchases, which were made at a gourmet shop for over $200.

At 4:42 p.m., police responded to a single-car crash on Eastern Avenue. According to police, the 21-year-old driver reached down to pick up his sunglasses, when his car went off the road and struck a parked car. The parked car was then pushed into another parked car, reported police.

At 6:12 p.m., police were dispatched to a two-car accident at Washington and Cedar streets. According to police, one driver was cited for driving without a license.

At 7:36 p.m., police responded to the Sea Dog Pub for a report of a minor accident in the parking lot. According to police, one car was backing up and tapped another, before leaving. Through a witness, police were able to contact the driver, who willingly provided information for the report. The driver told police she was unaware she hit the other car.

Oct. 27 –

At 8:58 a.m., police responded to Vernon Street for a report of a vandalized car. According to police, an unknown person or persons had used gray spraypaint on the vehicle.

At 9:53 p.m., a CVS employee reported finding two counterfeit bills within a stack of $20 bills.

Oct. 28 –

At 1:44 a.m., police were called to Main Street for a report of a single-motorcycle crash. According to police, the motorcycle driver told the officer that an unknown vehicle crossed over into his lane, causing him to swerve and lose balance. The bike skidded over the curb and into a fence, damaging it, said police. There were no reported injuries.

At 10:14 p.m., a Merrimac Street resident reported three Styrofoam tombstones were stolen from his yard overnight.

Oct. 29 –

At 11:48 a.m., police responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a car in the Woburn Mall parking lot. According to police, a witness reported a woman’s foot was run over by a car moving at a slow pace. The driver was cited for failure to slow for a pedestrian.

At 12:05 p.m., police were called to Main Street for a report of a three-car accident. According to police, one driver rear-ended another, causing the three-car collision. The driver told police his attention was diverted.

At 2:50 p.m., a 42-year-old Billerica woman was summonsed to Woburn District Court for shoplifting at Kohl’s on Washington Street. According to police, an employee witnessed the woman take pieces of jewelry from a display and then pick up a set of pillowcases and a shirt. The woman reportedly went into the dressing room and came out with only the pillowcases and shirt, said police. Police reported the woman did pay for some items, but not everything. Police informed the woman she would be summonsed to court.
