POLICE LOG: Hundreds of Dollars in Damage Done to City Vehicles

At 8:52 a.m. police responded to The City of Woburn Council on Aging on a report of multiple damaged motor vehicles.

When police arrived they were met by multiple employees who said someone broke into their two vans and did damage to them.  Transportation Director Patti Meehan said that sand was thrown around the inside of the vans and the seatbelts had been cut. There was also some fluid spilled inside the vehicle.

Meehan said the vans were parked in the front of the building at about noon on March 29 and employees noticed the damage when they came back to work.

Total damage to the vans was around $500.

 

Other Incidents

March 31-

At 9:19 p.m. police responded to a Forest Park Road location on a report of past theft. The caller stated that when she was at On the Border the night before someone stole her iPhone. She said she was sitting in the bar area and was showing friends pictures on the phone and then put it back into a handbag draped over her chair.

The caller said she used tracking software and it said the phone was in Stoneham. While she was talking with police a new address came up at Tufts University. Police called Tufts and was told the location was likely a residence hall.

 

April 1-

At 4:02 p.m. a man came to the station to report identify theft. The man stated that his cousin, who has the same name as him except for one letter difference, had applied for and was granted a loan with his social security for $11,000. The suspect lives in Texas and received the loan from a bank out of New York. The man said he was in the process of working with the bank to clear this up and needed a police report as part of that process.

 

At 5:44 p.m. a caller reported that he had parked his vehicle on Crescent Street for work and when he returned he discovered something had struck the rear driver side panel causing a large dent and paint damage.
