POLICE LOG: Landlord Reportedly Releases Cat Without Permission

The following is an excerpt from the Woburn Police Department log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.

Nov. 6 – At 8:16 p.m., a police officer walking through the City Hall parking lot observed a woman crying and very upset. The officer spoke to the woman, who said that her cat was missing from her apartment. The woman told police that she believed her landlord or property manager let the cat out of her building. The officer forwarded the information to the animal control officer. The officer reported he searched the area of City Hall and downtown Woburn, but did not find the cat. The pet is described as a gray and white cat with no identifiable marks or tags. [Editor’s note: An update to this report, the cat was found on the common early Wednesday morning by the owner.]

Other Incidents:

Nov. 5 –

At 12:18 p.m., police responded to Mill Street for a disturbance. According to police, two men reported a lost pit bull dog on Nov. 4. Two teens found the dog and contacted the owner. Police reported the men met and argued when asked if there was a reward for the lost dog. The dog owner did give the teens an undetermined amount of cash for finding the dog and bringing him home.

Nov. 6 –

At 12:04 p.m., a Woburn woman reported a check was stolen from her in July. According to police, the woman said she was holding a check for safekeeping but it was stolen by the intended recipient in July.

At 1:57 p.m., a Woburn woman reported an unknown person used her identity to open a credit card account in Florida.

At 4:05 p.m., a Haverhill woman reported her car damaged while parked at the Tower Office Park. According to police, the woman was attending a class when her car’s rear driver’s side window was smashed. The woman’s GPS unit was stolen from the vehicle, said police.

At 4:32 p.m., a Woburn man reported his ex-girlfriend was harassing him via text messages, e-mails and Facebook.

At 5:02 p.m., a Winchester woman reported her iPhone was stolen while she was attending a birthday party at LazerCraze on Presidential Way. The woman told police she tracked the phone to a Woburn home and sent a signal to the phone. After the woman sent the signal, said police, the phone was shut off and the woman has not been able to track it.

At 6:02 p.m., police responded to a two-car accident at Montvale Avenue and Rainin Road.

At 8:44 p.m., an Inwood Drive resident reported his Rolex watch had been missing for three weeks.

Nov. 7 –

At 7:03 a.m., police responded to a two-car accident on Main Street at Wilcox Circle and Eaton Avenue. One driver was issued a citation for failure to use care while turning.
