POLICE LOG: Man Assaults Officer, Pair Arrested For Selling Drugs Near Linscott-Rumford
An excerpt from the Woburn Police Department's Jan. 31-Feb. 3 police log.

The following is an excerpt from the log. Please note that this is a sampling of activity in the log, not a complete account. We report all arrests included in the daily police log.
Jan. 31 –
- At 6:15 p.m., Kyle Haegy Rotolo, 19, and Joseph Edward Wheaton, 19, of 4 Nichols St., were arrested and charged with possession with the intent to distribute a Class D substance (marijuana) and a drug violation near a school or park (). The pair was taken into custody after the Southern Middlesex Regional Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at the Nichols Street home as part of an ongoing investigation.

- At 12:57 a.m., Colin T. McMahon, 30, of 19 Carson Road, was arrested and charged with assault and battery, destruction of property under $250, two counts of aggravated assault and battery on a police officer, two counts of resisting arrest and disorderly conduct. According to police, officers were first called to Carson Road at 6:40 p.m. for a report of a domestic dispute, but McMahon had left the home prior to police arrival. Shortly after midnight, officers returned to the home when they received a report that McMahon had returned. During the arrest, police report that McMahon violently resisted and attempted to grab the arresting officer’s gun. With the assistance of another officer, Woburn Police put McMahon into custody. Bail was set for McMahon at $5,000 at Woburn District Court.
- At 7:08 p.m., police responded to a Continental Court apartment after a two-year-old closed the door on her father, locking him out of the residence. While waiting for a locksmith, a woman, against police advisement, broke the bathroom window and gained entry to the apartment.
- At 7:46 p.m., officers were dispatched to Bedford Road for a report of a possible assault and battery. When police arrived, the victim reported being shoved with tow hands by the suspect, but declined to file a complaint.
- At 9:04 p.m., Elaine Theresa Gargano, 50, of 79C Montvale Ave. Apt. #1, was arrested and charged with larceny over $250 after police responded to a report of shoplifting at on Commerce Way. According to police, Gargano passed the store’s point of purchase with almost $1,000 in unpurchased merchandise in her shopping cart.
Feb. 2 –
- At 10:41 a.m., David Dembrowski, 44, of 42 Wyman St., was arrested and charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (shovel) after police responded to a report of a dispute. According to police, Dembrowski hit the victim with a shovel during snow removal after the victim approached him, allegedly looking for a fight.
- At 11:21 a.m., police responded to Wyman Street for a report of a verbal domestic dispute.
- At 12:13 p.m., a Woburn man reported his unlocked truck entered and several items stolen, including a watch and a computer valued at over $3,500, while it was parked in his driveway on Newbury Street.
- At 7:03 p.m., a Murray Road woman called police, reporting possible drug activity.

- At 6:52 a.m., police responded to a Salem Street apartment for a report of an unresponsive male with previous health issues. The sudden death was reported to the state’s medical examiner’s office.
- At 7:57 a.m., a car slid on ice, fish-tailing and striking another car and a snowbank behind on Elm Street.
