POLICE LOG: Man Injured by Dog Bites, Another Case of Tax Return Fraud

An excerpt from the WPD police log. The following arrest information was supplied by the Woburn Police Department. The arrest does not indicate a conviction.

At 1:49 p.m. police responded to the area of Main Street and Harlow Court on a report of a dog bite. When police arrived they found the caller, a man, on the sidewalk in a great deal of pain. He had been bitten on the thigh of his left leg. He had also been bitten on his right hand and had injuries to his fingers.  The caller said he was jogging on Main Street when a woman came around the corner with a dog on a leash and the dog jumped up and bit him. The owner was on scene and the dog was up to date on its shots.

Other Incidents

April 5-

At 7:44 a.m. an Olympia Ave caller reported that he had parked his vehicle in a lot yesterday and went inside a building to take a class. When he returned to his vehicle he saw that the roof had been keyed. Caller said he had no idea who would have done the vandalism.

 

At 11:33 a.m. police responded to Target on a report of larceny by an employee. Police spoke to loss prevention who said that over the past few weeks it was discovered that an employee in the Starbucks concession had been activating gift cards on her register for $10 and $20 at a time. The employee will be fired and the store is demanding she pay back the money, $160 in total, within three months, or the store will proceed with a larceny complaint.

 

At 2:42 p.m. a Bedford Road caller reported identity fraud. Caller stated that when he went to file his 2012 Income tax returns it was denied. He called the IRS who informed him that his taxes were already filed.  The IRS directed him to the fraud division.

 April 6-

At 9:59 p.m. a man came to the lobby to report a breaking and entering of his motor vehicle. The victim said he had stopped at KFC to get dinner wand when he returned to his vehicle the dome light was on. He didn’t think much of it but when he returned home he noticed his Tom Tom GPS and a Tim Thomas replica sports jersey were missing. Total amount of the items was about $280.

 

April 8-

At 9:35 a.m. a caller stated he was at the Dunkin Donuts on Mishawaum Road that morning and he parked his vehicle in front of the store and went inside. When he returned to his vehicle he found is iPhone had been stolen. Entrance was gained by the passenger door which was unlocked.
