POLICE LOG: Neighbor Accused of Hurting Dog

Oct. 18 – At 6:22 p.m., police responded to a neighborhood dispute on Merrimac Street. According to police, one man reported that a neighbor may be targeting their dog in an attempt to hurt it. Chicken bones and uncooked bacon have been found in the yard where the dog goes out. The reporting party stated the dog had to be taken to the vet after the chicken bone incident.

Oct. 18 –
At 10:34 a.m., a groundskeeper at St. Charles Church reported about 30-feet of copper piping stolen.
At 5:31 p.m., police conducted a well being check at West Cummings Park. According to police, a woman left an Alcoholics Anonymous class in an altered state. Police found the woman outside in the parking lot and drove the woman home. Police took the woman’s car key from her so that she could not drive. The officer returned the key to her at the end of his shift.
At 7:10 p.m., a 54-year-old Woburn man was taken into protective custody after police received a report of a man lying on the ground on Salem Street. Police found the man, who was speaking with slurred speech and smelled of alcohol. The man was taken into custody at that time.
At 8:34 p.m., Harinder Mohan Singh, 49, of 13 Totman Dr. Apt. #B, was arrested and charged with assault with a dangerous weapon (Smith & Wesson handgun) and intoxicated licensee carrying a firearm.
